Make it snow!
The International Snowmobiling Manufacturers Association (ISMA) released a Snow Dance video on the Internet. The Snow Dance shown in the video is designed to make it snow, thus hastening the arrival of the snowmobiling season.
The new Snow Dance video features a mom, dad and their two teenage children singing and dancing around four snowmobiles. In the video, there is no snow on the ground but it is obvious this avid snowmobiling family really wants it to snow. The video has also been posted on YouTube and other video sharing Web sites.
Take a Friend Snowmobiling Week
February 14-22, 2009
The snowmobile community is excited to announce Take a Friend Snowmobiling Week, which will be held February 14-22, 2009. This elongated week celebrates friends and family snowmobiling for nine days, including two weekends. The snowmobile week was introduced to go hand-in-hand with the Take a Friend Snowmobiling campaign, which has been developed to encourage all of us to take our non-snowmobiling friends out snowmobiling.
Clubs are encouraged to participate in the activity and try to hold a special day or weekend encouraging members to bring non-snowmobiling friends to the clubhouse to go for a short ride and discover what snowmobilers do during the winter.
As a special incentive to take non-snowmobilers snowmobiling, the manufacturers will give away a new snowmobile to a lucky individual who registers online and participates in the Take a Friend Snowmobiling Week event. To register, visit GoSnowmobiling.org. If a club organizes an event, participating club members, guests and the club are all able to register to win.
So plan on taking part in participating in Take a Friend Snowmobiling Week, February 14-22, 2009. Remember to register online and take advantage of this opportunity to win a new snowmobile and have fun doing it. Click here for more information.
Ride a snowmobile!
Avid snowmobilers know that snowmobiling is a great way to spend time with friends, enjoy the outdoors, view beautiful scenery, and visit places you might only reach by snowmobile. Non-snowmobilers thirst for the winter family fun that snowmobiling provides, but lack the information needed to get started. According to a recent study by ISMA, 50 percent of all North American adults would like to go snowmobiling. When outdoor enthusiasts were asked to rate their desire to go snowmobiling on a scale of 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest), most showed a huge interest, choosing the number 9.
You too could be hooked, if you took a ride on a snowmobile. We'd like to take you for a test drive! Contact a local snowmobile association for information about scheduling a Media Ride or a Familiarization Ride in your area.
Safe Riders! Materials
The snowmobiling season is here and the snowmobile manufacturers are pleased to again be supporting and sponsoring the "Safe Riders! You Make Snowmobiling Safe" safety campaign. "Safe Riders!" offers various materials including snowmobiling fact books, safety related posters, decals and a safety video. The fact books are eagerly picked up by snowmobile enthusiasts and others interested in learning about snowmobiling and the snowmobile community. The posters are professionally printed, often framed and put on display in lobbies, offices, restaurants and hotels across the snowbelt of North America. Copies of these popular materials can be obtained free of charge (while supplies last) from the ISMA office (517.339.7788).
We have current photos
For the past five years, the snowmobile manufacturers have participated in an annual Snow Shoot. Professional photos are taken showing all four of the snowmobile manufacturers in great family settings. These family/tourism friendly shots are available free of charge for use in any snowmobile related promotion (brochures, snowmobile trail maps, Web sites, etc). The photos can be easily downloaded from our Web site. If you need higher quality photos or different formats, please contact the ISMA office at 517.339.7788. Thank you for helping us promote family snowmobiling!
About ISMA
The International Snowmobile Manufacturers Association (ISMA) is an organization representing the four snowmobile manufacturers. We coordinate committees within the industry to handle concerns such as snowmobile safety, the promotion of the lifestyle activity of snowmobiling, keeping accurate statistics, reporting the growth of the industry and the positive economic impact snowmobiling has throughout the world.
GoSnowmobiling was formed in 2001 by the International Snowmobile Manufacturers Association (ISMA) and the four manufacturers Arctic Cat, Bombardier Recreational Products (BRP), Polaris Industries and Yamaha Motor Corporation. GoSnowmobiling works to provide the public and media with pertinent information about the snowmobiling lifestyle and to promote snowmobiling as a fun family activity.
